From 28th to 31st October, Nigerian fashion and design will be put under the spotlight as the best and brightest talent vies for international attention. While the show itself promises to be one of this year’s biggest fashion events in Africa, we look behind the glitz and glam to reveal a motivational story that you may not be aware of.
Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is now in its 5th year and the Heineken sponsored show has completed casting for fabulous models. As with so many African organisations in the 21st century, while the show’s focus is on the local market, it also aims to help drive positive vibes for the whole continent.
That effort is creating positive ripples across the web – even as far as the British Council – who have teamed up with LFDW to create a series of Fashion Internships under the banner ‘Fashion DNA’. If you have a Nigerian connection and have dreamed about working in the fashion industry, then this could be just what you’ve been looking for.
So much of fashion is about THE photograph. The one image that captures the imagination, while perfectly framing the designers intent and the model’s passion.

If you are mad-keen on Nigerian fashion, have photographic talent, are free in mid-October and are determined to succeed in this highly competitive business – then we encourage you to apply!
