The Notting Hill Carnival and a certain Hugh Grant film have helped make London’s Portobello Road one of the most famous landmarks in the capital. The road is equally famous for it’s market which dates back to the 1800s. After a complete makeover a few years back, the area now houses some of the trendiest stores in town, the newest of which will be Sapelle, an African Specialist retailer located at 281 Portobello Road.
On Wednesday 9th September, Daphne Kasambala will be hosting two opening events at her new store. The daytime event opens at 11am and finishes at 5pm, while the evening event kicks off at 6pm and is scheduled to finish around 9pm. FREE Tickets for both are available on EventBrite.
The store’s ethos is heavily embedded in the ‘fairtrade’ concept and Daphne herself is dedicated to ethical trading practices.
To give Africa Fashion readers an idea of what to expect, she invited our cameras down for a sneak preview – check it out!
The evening event will have all of her latest collections for Autumn/Winter fashion and lifestyle products – as well as AfroBeats music, canapes and fizz.
You can meet the founder herself and some of her designers.
We encourage you to share the EventBrite link with your friends, book a ticket yourself and head down there!
