Fashion4Africa at Somerset House

In partnership with Gambia, Fashion4Africa kicks off on Saturday 9th September at London’s prestigious Somerset House. The event will also focus on the transfer of skills and B2B knowledge between the UK and Gambia, to help boost manufacturing and to support creatives on the ground in both countries. There will also be a talent competition for both models and designers – combined with a fashion show finale. Very exciting!

The show will give Gambia’s local talent a chance to present the audience with a taste of what’s being produced by talent in Africa. After spending years in between UK, Gambia and Senegal working with local talent and artisans, Fashion4Africa said –

“The concept of this very exciting event is to provide young upcoming models and designers of African origin with an opportunity to shine and perfect their craft. The event will see models from the smallest country in Africa, The Gambia, to the larger South Africa. One of our contestants is a white African, which demonstrates that we stay true to our ‘No Discrimination’ motto”.

As designers, models, photographers and other artistic talents start their preparations, Africa Fashion gives you an overview of what to expect.
